Remembrance post-WW2

This interesting typographic treatment caught my eye at Westminster Abbey this summer. Designed by artist Tom Phillips in 2008, the sign is made from welded steel and covered with earth from various battlefields.

A new typeface by Matthew Carter, “Carter Sans” (based on epigraphic letterforms) was used by Michael Beirut for the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame Gala invitations.
