    Greetings Carol,

    Thrilled to discover your type blog. There can never too much discussion on typography and its influence on culture and society.

    I must point out, however, that the “superior influence” to your Axis map surely must have been those produced by renowned designer Paula Scher, of Pentagram Design, N.Y.

    Have your students visit this inspiring site;

    Paula most recently gave a presentation in May to the 2010 Kwantlen Poly Tech Grads in Design at the Waterfall Gallery in Vancouver. There, in addition to her 35 past years of design work, she showed her recent synthesis of typography and fine art. The map series finds roots in her passion for typography, place, texture and composition. Truly a visual treat.

    SIncerely,
